Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Docuseries Has Seriously Broken Netflix Records

Especially in the United Kingdom.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s highly anticipated docuseries, Harry & Meghan, premiered last week, and it has already broken Netflix records.

Volume I of the show debuted with 81.55 million hours viewed—the highest view hours of any documentary title in a premiere week, per the streaming service.

Helmed by Oscar-nominated director Liz Garbus, the docuseries is also now the number two English television series being streamed globally (behind Wednesday) and appeared in the Top 10 TV list in 85 countries.

It is also number one in the United Kingdom, though we know Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, are not included in those watching.

Just four days into the series being available on Netflix, more than 28 million households had seen the first three episodes.

In Volume I of the show, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex speak of their love story and their low-key life at home in California with their two kids, and give a glimpse into what drove them to step down from their senior royal roles.

Volume II promises a lot more drama, particularly regarding the couple’s alleged estrangement from Harry’s royal family, and potentially a view into what their relationship with them looks like now.

Harry & Meghan: Volume I is now available to stream on Netflix. Volume II premieres at 3 a.m. on December 15.
