What a name!
Emily Ratajkowski has officially joined the celebrity mom club.
The model and soon-to-be-author took to Instagram today to announce that she welcomed her first child earlier this week. To break the baby news, Ratajkowski shared a stunning sunlit photo of Mom cradling her newborn as she breastfeeds them. The model also shared her baby’s majorly impressive name, Sylvester Apollo Bear, and their adorable nickname, Sly. This marks the first child for both Ratajkowski and her husband, actor-director Sebastian Bear-McClard.
“Sylvester Apollo Bear has joined us earth side,” wrote Ratajkowski alongside the Instagram post. “Sly arrived 3/8/21 on the most surreal, beautiful, and love-filled morning of my life.”
Ratajkowski first announced the news of her pregnancy back in October with a Lena Dunham–directed video, featuring the model showing off her then burgeoning baby bump and narrating a poem she had written in dedication to her little one.
“I dreamed of you for the first time the other night,” she said in the clip. “We are wondering who you will be.”
The model also thanked Dunham in her caption for helping bring her announcement to life, writing, “Thank you to my brilliant and very generous friend @lenadunham for her vision and commitment to directing this. I’m so grateful. And thank you to my other wonderful friend @eccopn for his music and to @dschneids for her editing! You all made this the most special. Written and filmed by me. Shot at home.”
