Tracking All the New Gossip Girl Looks and Behind-the-Scenes Photos

We will obsess over every last one, thank you.

HBO Max’s Gossip Girl has already begun filming, and the Internet has already begun dissecting the behind-the-scenes photos. With cameras now rolling in New York City, all eyes are on the new class of “Manhattan’s elite,” but be warned: They’re nothing like Blair, Serena, Chuck, Dan, Nate, Jenny, and the rest of the original crew. This is a whole new gang and a whole new story, which picks up eight years after the original Gossip Girl website went dark.

Sure, like the original squad, these cool kids hang out on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, remix their prep school uniforms with stylish accoutrements, and dress up for fancy parties—with outfits from original costume designer Eric Daman—but the similarities seem to stop there. According to show co-creator and screenwriter Joshua Safran, this is a more diverse group with more LGBTQ+ representation, navigating New York City in a completely different era.

This new Gossip Girl debuts in 2021. Here are the behind-the-scenes photos to hold you over until then.

Zión Moreno poses in a white button-down blouse, lace-up skirt, socks, sandals, and hoop earrings.
Jordan Alexander wears a pinstripe Constance Billard blazer with a fanny pack, scarf, shorts, and black knee-high boots (genius!). Whitney Peak puts a spin on the Constance jumper with Adidas socks and Ivy Park x Adidas sneakers.
The actors wear face masks and protective medical gear as the crew film during the coronavirus pandemic.
Emily Alyn Lind rocks a preppy no-pants look featuring an oversized sweater, pussy bow blouse, black socks, and heeled loafers.

Tavi Gevinson (bottom left) is spotted with the crew in a cardigan, white blouse, tapered pants, and blue velvet block-heeled pumps.
Jordan Alexander wears the uniform remix to end all uniform remixes: an oversized button-down, tie, biker shorts, and white croc boots by Schutz. Do you spot her red vintage Fendi bag too?
Tavi Gevinson wears rosy hues in a scene with Adam Chanler-Berat.
