See Prince Louis’s Adorable Trooping the Colour Debut

For every Trooping the Colour—which marks Queen Elizabeth’s official birthday—the British royal family gathers on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch the Royal Air Force fly over the London crowds. This year, the historic perch had a new addition: Prince Louis.

Too young to attend in 2018, the youngest Cambridge child joined his brother Prince George, sister Princess Charlotte, and four generations of other family members for the patriotic event. He wore a white shirt and blue shorts, and already knew exactly what to do: he waved, and pointed. For much of the time, he was held by both father Prince William and mother Kate Middleton.

His sister Princess Charlotte also seemed to be having quite a good time as she waved enthusiastically, a grin on her face. The Duchess of Sussex also was in the balcony, which was her first public appearance since taking maternity leave in May.

At last year’s celebration, Prince George and cousin Savannah Phillips engaged in some playful antics. At one point—to the internet’s delight—Savannah even put her hand over George’s mouth to shush him.

Trooping the Colour: a joyful occasion for the United Kingdom, and royal watchers across the world.
