The beauty of Dior’s Moroccan extravaganza was evident on the runway, but those lucky enough to head to Marrakech were offered a bird’s-eye view of both a thrilling collection and a city brimming with history. For Nora Attal, the Moroccan-British beauty who has been working with Maria Grazia Chiuri and her team since the designer debuted in 2017, the trip offered a chance to merge private and professional. Though she was there to work, hitting the catwalk in one of the mixed-print New Look suits, Attal also made time to experience her favorite parts of Marrakech.
First stop, the Jardin Majorelle, where she and fellow model Malika El Maslouhi took in the lush greenery and architect Paul Sinoir’s Cubist paradise of Bou Saf Saf Villa. Then it was off to the souks for shopping and a peek at photography and housewares created by local artists.
Sightseeing was fun, but being a part of the collection was the highlight of Attal’s adventure. From getting ready backstage at the Palais El Badi to dancing the night away to Diana Ross at the star-studded after-party, Attal documented every moment for Vogue in this special behind-the-scenes diary.
