Bella Poarch enjoys the unique ability to say that, as of today, she is still responsible for the most-liked video in TikTok’s history. She uploaded that widely popular video of her lip-syncing to “M to the B” by rapper Millie B back in 2020. Since then, Poarch has emerged as a bonafide celebrity in her own right—and a certified style star. Last year, the 25-year-old was cast in one of Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty shows, and recently she made the rounds during fashion month, walking the Boss Fall 2022 show in Milan, then attending Miu Miu and Valentino show in Paris.
What does Poarch, who, only a few years ago, was a small-town girl that served in the U.S. Navy, think of being part of Paris Fashion Week? “This is my second time attending PFW and this year was so much more fun,” she says. “I already had an idea of what to expect and I saw so many of my friends like Bretman [Rock] and Bryanboy. And it was great making new friends like Giuliano Calza who made me feel right at home.”
Poarch, who regularly cosplays on her social media pages, says the collections she saw in Paris could provide major inspiration for future costumes. “GCDS definitely inspired my next cosplay because I love the way they’re constantly pushing boundaries and thinking outside the box,” she says. “That’s what I love about them.”
One thing the style star is definitely not afraid of? Boots. According to Poarch, the chunkier, the better. “I wore boots for my entire four years in the Navy and I ended up loving them,” she says. “I would literally sleep with steel-toed boots during my time in the Navy and I ended up feeling really comfortable in them. No matter how big or tall, boots aren’t an issue anymore*.”
Poarch says there were plenty of standout moments for her during Paris Fashion Week. One special experience came via Bella Hadid’s viral spray-on dress at Coperni. “Everything about it was incredible,” Poarch says. “I was in awe when Bella walked out and when they started spray painting her I didn’t know what to expect, but the end result was magnificent.”
And the biggest trend the TikTok star is loving right now? “I’m really into DIY fashion, especially crocheting,” she says.” I love all the different patterns, colors, and textures. I don’t know how to crochet myself, but I want to learn.”
