The ballpark date marked a rare public outing for the new parents.
Emma Stone and David McCary are doing date night right.
The Cruella actress and her writer-director husband were photographed attending a San Diego Padres baseball game on Tuesday night. The couple’s outing was captured by Padres television analyst Mark Grant and play-by-play commentator Don Orsillo, who both shared photos of the couple on Twitter.
“La La Land…Naaahhhh… More like, Padre Land!” Grant wrote alongside a photo of the couple smiling for the camera. “Thanks to Emma Stone and her Husband David McCary for visiting us in the booth. It was truly a pleasure! Go Padres! #bestactress”
Orsillo chimed in, posting a new photo with the couple and writing, “Great to meet Academy Award winning Best Actress Emma Stone and her husband Dave McCary from Saturday Night Live. I mentioned I have done a few films myself #Dontourage @Padres.”
Stone and McCary’s night at the ball game marks one of the couple’s first joint public appearances since welcoming their first child together back in March.
“Emma and Dave have a great marriage and both wanted a child. They are a very grounded and private couple and were ready for a family,” a source told People shortly after the pair became parents.
“Emma has been very excited about the baby. She has been private but said that she was feeling great. She always has a huge smile when she is with Dave,” a separate source said.
Adds an insider from the film industry, “Emma and Dave have a strong and respectful marriage. A baby will add a new dimension of bliss for both of them.”
