Margot Robbie Is Back as Harley Quinn in The Suicide Squad Trailer

She’s joined by Idris Elba, John Cena, Viola Davis, and more in the upcoming film.

Your favorite no-filter anti-superhero, Harley Quinn, is back in business.

Margot Robbie reprises her famous DC role in The Suicide Squad, whose first trailer was released today. Directed by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy), the action-packed film centers on a group of DC Comics’ most notorious delinquents. It’s the follow-up to 2016’s Suicide Squad, directed by David Ayer, which also starred Robbie, along with Jared Leto (Joker), Will Smith (Deadshot), and more.

This time around, the Oscar nominee is joined by a new cast that includes Idris Elba (Bloodsport), John Cena (Peacemaker), Sylvester Stallone (King Shark), and others. Viola Davis also reprises her role as Amanda Waller.

The Suicide Squad arrives to theaters and HBO Max on August 6. Robbie shared the trailer with fans on Instagram today, saying, “Here we go💥.”

The actress made her debut as Quinn in 2016’s Suicide Squad and returned in last year’s Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinndirected by Cathy Yan and produced by Robbie’s own company. There were also rumors that she and Jared Leto would star in a standalone Harley Quinn and Joker film, but it seems plans for the project haven’t quite materialized (yet).

Of her connection to the character, Robbie previously told Variety, “Harley has this unpredictable nature that means she could react in any way to any situation, which as an actor is just a gift. Between all those things, I really just fell in love with her.”

Quinn also debuts a new red-and-black ensemble in The Suicide Squad, a dark and vampy departure form the shimmery, tasseled jacket she wore in Birds of Prey.
