If you came of age in the early aughts, the seemingly golden love of actors Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston likely loomed large in your consciousness, whether you wanted it to or not. Their much-chronicled split in 2005 was, if possible, even more newsworthy: suddenly, the former couple was seemingly at odds.
Years later, diehard Brad-and-Jen fans were thrown a bone when the pair was seen engaged in what appeared to be a friendly (or…maybe more?) mini reunion at the 2020 SAG Awards. Now, Pitt and Aniston are taking things a step further by teaming up for a virtual table read of the 1982 comedy Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
Pitt and Aniston are far from the only celebrities signed on for the charity event—Jimmy Kimmel, Morgan Freeman, Shia LaBeouf, Matthew McConaughey, Julia Roberts, Dane Cook, Henry Golding, and Sean Penn will also appear—but their mutual appearance seems to signal that the longtime chill between the two exes has dissolved, at least enough for them to hang out for a good cause (albeit virtually).
Is it likely that Pitt and Aniston will rekindle their long-dormant romance over a Zoom reading? Probably not, but you could be forgiven for devoting an inordinate amount of brain space to the prospect—after all, it’s been nearly six full months of Tiger King, bread-baking, and endless middle-school regression. What could be a more fitting cap off to all that homebound activity than baselessly speculating about Brad and Jen?
