Independent film may be the first thing on everyone’s mind at the Sundance Film Festival, but when the stars touch down in Park City to promote their latest projects, they bring their love of fashion with them. The wealth of premieres, parties, and panels means multiple outfit changes and the opportunity to show off the best in cold-weather style. After all, even if you aren’t launching the next Little Miss Sunshine or Get Out, you can still enjoy aprés-ski and a good time.
This year’s action was kickstarted by Taylor Swift, who arrived at the premiere of her documentary Miss Americana looking like a boss in a tailored plaid suit by Carmen March. Lena Waithe, meanwhile, wore a voluminous Ivy Park puffer to a screening of her film Bad Hair, directed by Justin Simien. Both women epitomized the casual cool Sundance has become known for, setting the stage for a fantastic week of film and fashion.
