I want a ‘Friends’ reunion for my birthday, too.
Hopes of a Friends reunion have often been squashed, but Courteney Cox just shared a photo on Instagram that made the internet giddy again.
The actress posted an image of herself beaming between her ex-co-stars, Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow. It’s proof that the friendship between the three women has endured fifteen years after the beloved TV show ended.
Courteney’s caption suggested that the trio had reunited, not for a reboot, but for the 55th birthday. She wrote, “How lucky am I to celebrate my birthday with these two??? I love you girls. So much ♥️”. Meanwhile, Kudrow commented writing, “LOVE you girls! Happy happy Court.”
Jeweler Jennifer Meyer (Meghan Markle is a fan) also posted a photo of the celebrations featuring the three Friends stars, as well as Thea Mann, Mary McCormack, and Sara Foster.
Earlier in June, Aniston gave fans renewed hope that a Friends reboot could happen as she spoke to Ellen DeGeneres on her chat show, only to say that she was joking a few days later.
When DeGeneres asked if they could make an onscreen reunion happen, Aniston said, “Why not? You know what, because, listen, I told you. I would do it. The girls would do it, the boys would do it, I’m sure. Listen–anything could happen.”
But when asked about this by Entertainment Tonight, Aniston cleared up the comment, explaining that she was just trying to move on from the question. “Well, ‘no’ was getting me nowhere, and ‘maybe’ was getting me nowhere,” she said. “So I thought I’d try ‘yes’. See what would happen. Sorry!”
She explained that while “anything could happen,” it’s not currently looking very likely. “I have no idea though. There’s no plans in the immediate future,” she explained.
