We missed you, Andy Sachs.
Anne Hathaway has us dreaming of 2006.
The star’s latest look reminded fans of one of her most famous roles. With the help of her stylist Erin Walsh, the Academy-Award nominee donned a sleek yet whimsical look that had us thinking of Andrea Sachs, Hathaway’s lead role in the film The Devil Wears Prada.
In the pics, shared to her Instagram, the Ocean’s 8 actor wears a black knee-length wool coat, featuring gold buttons, over a collared floral minidress, both by Valentino. She completes the look with sheer Wolford tights, black Giuseppe Zanotti platform boots, Bulgari jewelry, and a bright yellow Valentino bag.
“Grazie/Merci/ThankYouForever @maisonvalentino,” she wrote in the caption, tagging the Italian brand.
She also wore her hair in a ponytail with tendrils framing her face. The indirect callback to The Devil Wears Prada is thanks in part to the star’s wispy bangs, which look similar to the character’s hair after her Miranda Priestly-approved makeover.
Last year was a big year for fans of the hit dramedy, with the film’s cast, including Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, reuniting for the film’s 15-year anniversary in Entertainment Weekly‘s July issue. Hathaway herself also revealed the details of her casting during a February appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race, telling the contestants that she had to fight for her role.
“I will give you some tea: I was the ninth choice for Devil Wears Prada,” she said. “But I got it! Hang in there, never give up.”
