Most DC fans are pretty excited about forthcoming movie The Batman, which stars eternal heartthrob Robert Pattinson in the titular role.
A plethora of revelations have come out of DC’s FanDome virtual convention this weekend, and a teaser trailer for The Batman has given viewers a better idea of what they can expect from Pattinson’s vigilante.
Not only do we get to see Edward Cullen don the iconic Batsuit, we’re also introduced to Selena Kyle, also known as Catwoman, portrayed by Zoë Kravitz. Jeffrey Wright, who is playing Commissioner Gordon in the movie, also puts in an appearance.
With Nirvana’s “Something in the Way” as the soundtrack, the first teaser for The Batman is exceedingly moody, and hints at an even darker vision than recent incarnations of the hero.
The movie also stars Colin Farrell as The Penguin, whose prosthetics have already been widely praised by fans. In fact, the actor looks unrecognizable in the trailer.
Meanwhile, Paul Dano plays The Riddler, and the trailer sees the antagonist sending copious notes and riddles to Batman. The movie is directed by Matt Reeves, who also co-wrote the screenplay. His co-writer, Project Power‘s Mattson Tomlin, told Den of Geek, “It’s tough to talk about, just because you want the movie to speak for itself … I think that, first of all, it’s a younger version than the most recent versions that we’ve seen.”
