Each season, Miu Miu’s fashion show takes place on the last day of Paris Fashion Week, closing out fashion month. For fall 2020, Miuccia Prada sent out a vintage-inspired collection to the tune of David Bowie’s “Aladdin Sane,” with purposely wrinkled slip dresses, oversized outerwear, and those clashing prints she does so well. Models walked in an atmospheric patterned, carpeted show space designed by AMO inside Palais d’Lena.
The show was already star-studded, with 16-year old actress Storm Reid opening the show, followed by pop sensation Rita Ora donning a tailored military-esque coat and chunky crystal jewelry on the runway. And front row guests included Thylane Blondeau, Bianca Brandolini, Manon Bresch, Alexa Chung, Emma Corrin, Jeanne Damas, Poppy Delevingne, Xavier Dolan, Anne Dorval, Miss Fame, Lucy Hale, Clara Luciani, Victoria Pedretti, Maggie Rogers, Emmanuelle Seigner, Lily Taieb, Anya Taylor-Joy, Mathilde Warnier, Lachlan Watson, and Gaia Weiss.
Following the show, Miu Miu brought some of those same front-row guests out to Raspoutine for an intimate after-party. The same floral patterned print that covered the show venue was splashed on a wall inside the nightclub against which guests posed for photos.
Russian-inspired decor, giant matryoshka dolls, and ornate lamps flanked the space. Drinks were flowing and everyone was on the dance floor, as tunes from Daft Punk and Diana Ross played throughout the venue. Some of the biggest fans of the brand were wearing archive pieces from the label. A celebration was felt—not just for the brand’s show, but also for the final moments of fashion month. “We made it!” cheered one editor as they made their way onto the dance floor.
