Little Women—is one of the most anticipated films to close out 2019. The feature, an adaptation of the classic Louisa May Alcott novel, is due for nationwide release on December 25, and features a stellar cast that includes Meryl Streep, Saoirse Ronan, Timothée Chalamet, Emma Watson, and more. It also marks the major movie debut for up-and-coming actor Hadley Robinson, who will also star in the television series Utopia, and Amy Poehler’s upcoming project, Moxie.
Last night, Robinson and her fellow cast members attended the Little Women world premiere in New York City—and the emerging star documented her getting-ready process for Vogue. The big day kicked off with a glam session, with Blake Erik on hair and Daniel Martin on makeup. While they got to work, Robinson reviewed her notes on how to successfully walk a carpet—after all, it was her very first time hitting one. (Her prompts included “smile,” ”hand on hip,” and “wide stance,” among others.)
The 25-year-old actor called upon the help of Louis Vuitton to nail down her premiere look, which consisted of a sheer sequin turtleneck dress with a striped bra and skirt set underneath. “The Louis Vuitton look under the Louis Vuitton look is a look in and of itself,” Robinson said of the pieces. “Layers of looks.” Once ready, it was then time to head over to the screening and snap some photos with the cast on the carpet. Afterwards, Gerwig, who Robinson describes as a “goddess,” introduced the film and ushered in the rest of evening’s festivities afterwards—which included champagne at the Plaza, of course.
Below, Robinson documents her getting-ready process for the big night.
At LAX at 4am! Splurged on fancy water. I brought 3 books on my 24 hour excursion because you never know. I bought more books because I didn’t bring enough with me. Found the only VEGAN almond croissant in New York City… a true Holly Golightly moment. But the animal activist version. Daniel Martin and Blake Erik are a dream team! It’s Little Women so a hair ribbon was a necessity. This espresso was truly life saving. “Thank you for being a friend.” Took me 20 minutes to decide on a purse, I wanted to bring them all. The Louis Vuitton look under the Louis Vuitton look is a look in and of itself. Layers of looks. Love Louis Vuitton! The coat made me feel like a punk Joan of Arc. Took notes on how to walk a red carpet! And then forgot them all once I was there. On the red carpet. Goddess and director Greta Gerwig introducing the film. I only cried a little bit. Stephen trying to steal my purse. Champagne at the plaza!
