Well, this explains what Tyrion and Sansa were really doing during the Battle of Winterfell.
- Game of Thrones is over, but a new deleted scene featuring Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) was just shared.
- In the clip, Missandei, Gilly, and baby Sam are hiding in the crypts of Winterfell, when Sansa and Tyrion come to their aid.
If you’re still mourning the end of Game of Thrones, then you’ll be relieved to find out that there is plenty more previously unseen Season 8 footage to sink your teeth into.
Fresh from finding out that the cast filmed an alternate ending, Entertainment Weekly has shared a deleted scene from Season 8. Per the publication, the deleted clip is taken from Episode 3, which is titled, “The Long Night.” In the footage, Sansa and Tyrion are hiding out in the crypts, and are forced to help Gilly and Missandei when they are attacked by wights.
The deleted scene is just one of many bonuses featured on the Game of Thrones Season 8 home video release, along with documentary The Last Watch, commentaries by the cast and crew, and other previously unseen extras. Meanwhile, a Game of Thrones: The Complete Collection box set is also being released on December 3, and apparently includes the long-awaited cast reunion, which is hosted by Conan O’Brien. Time to add that to your Christmas wish list.
As for that aforementioned alternate ending, actor Kristofer Hivju, who played Tormund Giantsbane, told Metro.co.uk, “That was mostly for fun but I don’t know if I’m allowed to tell you about that.”
