Suiting is a major trend for fall. At the shows in Paris earlier this year, labels such as Balenciaga, Givenchy, and Alexander McQueen showed fresh takes on the classic two-piece in all sorts of treatments: velvet, gingham, satin, and more. Leave it to runway star Gigi Hadid to immediately get on board with this playful approach to tailoring. Yesterday, the model hit the streets of New York City wearing a fun, groovy take on the look.
Tapping summer’s major tie-dye craze, Hadid opted for a double-breasted suit that had artful dip-dying. Ombré between white and blue, the graphic suit from Oscar de la Renta’s Resort 2020 collection—with a matching shirt underneath to match—made a statement while simultaneously still looking polished. Her shoes helped, too: pointy toe, western-inspired boots. She kept the outfit’s blue color scheme going with a two-tone mini bag, and tinted round sunglasses that were inspired by the ’90s.
