The actor is set to reprise her role as Agatha Harkness.
Kathryn Hahn’s fan-favorite WandaVision character is getting her own show.
Variety reports that Marvel Studios is developing a Disney Plus show all about Agatha Harkness, the sitcom neighbor turned Big Bad from the hit series WandaVision. Hahn received accolades from critics and fans for the role, as well as an Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie.
In addition to being a standout role for the comedic actress, Harkness is one of the Marvel’s comics most powerful witches, who has lived for centuries and survived the Salem Witch Trials.
Though Marvel Studios is historically spoiler-averse, sources told Variety that the new series is a “dark comedy,” and that WandaVision head writer Jac Schaeffer would serve as the writer and executive producer.
There’s still no word on a second season of WandaVision, but here’s hoping Hahn’s spin-off will give us more songs like the banger Agatha All Along.
Hahn told that playing the larger-than-life villain was a departure from her previous work, including the film franchise Bad Moms, HBO’s Mrs. Fletcher, and Amazon’s I Love Dick.
“I had been playing these kind of neurotic women, these small-scale women for a chapter, who I loved so madly and I will go back there in a heartbeat and I will [play them] again and again, but there was something so freeing about getting to let loose and be big, and not worry about size, and just not feel like I was being judged or not feeling embarrassed about being that size and just be huge,” she said.
