Yesterday, in the aftermath of fashion month, the model stepped out in New York City wearing a look that both revealed and highlighted her torso, sporting a high-necked black crop top with an oversized, pinstripe blazer with a dollar bill pocket square sticking out. As for the pants, the red-hot beacon of Hadid’s risqué look? They were a pair of I.am.gia body-skimming black trousers featuring an embedded strap that encircled her waist. She paired the risqué piece with a casual pair of Nike Shox sneakers.
Of course, at first sight, that swirly strap looks a little like a (very) exposed thong, which, in fact, wouldn’t be the most far-off thought. After all, the exposed thong has been trending for some time now, with Hadid herself wearing one of the over-the-top string-things last summer on the Versace spring 2020 men’s runway, and her friend Hailey Bieber wearing a version on the 2019 Met Gala red carpet, courtesy of Alexander Wang. As for Hadid’s most recent look? It’s not technically a thong, but it still pays tribute to the cheeky look.
