Christina Aguilera Has a Message for Couture Fashion Week

The front row at the Fall 2019 couture shows have been especially star studded. Power couples, music legends, and Hollywood royalty all converged on Paris, though the biggest surprise came in the form of Christina Aguilera. She popped in on the last day of the season and had a blast at Jean Paul Gaultier and Viktor and Rolf. At the latter show, Aguilera used her outfit to sum up the mood of the week with a slogan covered piece from the Dutch duo’s viral Spring 2019 collection. The tulle trench dress with the words “F* this I’m going to Paris” was an appropriately playful nod to the escape from reality that Paris—and fashion—can offer.

Aguilera is no slouch when it comes to couture. A regular presence at the collections back in the early aughts, she’s come full circle with her style and the Viktor and Rolf gown represents the best of her new style. Worn with slicked back hair and a signature red lip, the sweeping tulle didn’t overwhelm its petite wearer. Dressed in a look that was designed to be photographed, Aguilera got into the spirit of things, posing for a bevy of paparazzi and even whipping out her cell phone for a backstage selfies. Joined by her stylist Karen Clarkson in the front row, she ended the season on a cheeky high note.
