This look belongs on the Upper East Side.
Sarah Jessica Parker is paying homage to her most famous character.
At last night’s premiere for the Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That…, the actress channeled Carrie Bradshaw’s inimitable style in a voluminous midi dress with a tutu skirt. The gray evening gown, custom-made by Oscar de la Renta’s Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, includes a rosy-pink tulle skirt (which Parker obviously twirled in for the cameras throughout the night), a sweetheart neckline, glittery embroidery, and a matching sheer cape.
Accessories were also Carrie-esque. And Just Like That… costume designer Molly Rogers styled Parker in jewels from Fred Leighton and Larkspur & Hawk, as well as the estate watch from Briony Raymond and vintage costume jewelry. The actress also wore custom SJP Collection satin pumps, a pair called the Duchessa, which were pink with studs going down the backs.
All in all, it’s easy to imagine Carrie strutting through the Upper East Side in this look.
Some of Parker’s family—husband Matthew Broderick and 19-year-old son James Wilkie Broderick—also attended the premiere for the HBO Max series, which was held at New York City’s Museum of Modern Art. The father-and-son duo went the classic route in black-and-white suits.
Parker previously opened up about reprising her role as the beloved SATC character alongside costars Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, who play Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbes respectively.
“I think that Cynthia, Kristin, and I are all excited about the time that has passed,” she told Vanity Fair. “You know, who are they in this world now? Have they adapted? What part have they played? Where have they fallen short as women, as friends, and how are they finding their way?”
