In an edgy two-piece Chanel gown.
Kristen Stewart doubled down on her signature style in her latest Spencer red-carpet appearance.
On Tuesday, the actress wore yet another edgy Chanel look, this time to the Los Angeles premiere of her upcoming film, Spencer. On the carpet, she wore a two-piece gown by the brand featuring a black bandeau and full flared skirt embellished with black lace tiers and a statement black bow. She matched the gown’s dark palette with smoky violet eye shadow and played up the look’s sophisticated edge with an asymmetrical updo hairstyle featuring a side part styled in sleek waves.
Stewart posed on the carpet beside fellow costar Jack Farthing, who plays Prince Charles in the film.
A longtime ambassador for Chanel, the actress frequently wears looks by the brand. At a recent Spencer screening at the 65th BFI London Film Festival, she wore a full-length gray gown by Chanel studded with spiky jeweled beads. She matched her eye shadow to the dress with a gray smoky tint and coordinated with simple black-and-silver heels.
The actress plays the late Princess Diana in the biopic, which is set to hit theaters on November 5. The film explores Diana’s imagined internal world amid a royal holiday weekend at Queen Elizabeth II’s Sandringham estate in December of 1991.
Stewart has been transparent about her experience filming the piece, including the decisions behind particular wardrobe choices. Earlier in the month, she revealed to Entertainment Weekly the reason why her natural hair wasn’t styled to Diana’s famous short style.”If it wasn’t a wig, we would have had so much less time to shoot,” she said.
She also opened up about being her worst inner critic. In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, the actress said that of the many films she’s been part of, there are less than a handful of performances she’s felt content with. “I’ve probably made five really good films, out of 45 or 50 films,” the actress said. “Ones that I go, ‘Wow, that person made a top-to-bottom beautiful piece of work.'”
