Kim Kardashian West’s love of vintage is well documented. The reality star enjoys revisiting some of fashion’s best-loved collections by filling her closet with pieces from the ’90s and early ’00s. In the past year alone, Kardashian West has worn slinky minidresses from Versace’s Fall 1997 runway show, Thierry Mugler’s 1991 leopard print separates, and Jean-Paul Gaultier’s Spring 1994 tattoo leggings, so it should be no surprise that her latest look also came straight from the archives.
At the launch of good friend Christine Centenera’s collaboration with Levi’s last night in West Hollywood, Kardashian West wore a John Galliano–designed newsprint skirt from Dior’s Fall 2000 ready-to-wear show. She paired it with a plain white tank, Yeezy flip flops, and a matching saddle bag, merging the best of her body-conscious style with a memorable collection.
Copies of the Christian Dior Daily newspaper, which was made just for the collection, are hard to come by, but the skirts, dresses, and accessories featuring the print remain highly relevant. (The dress was famously worn by Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City.) Kardashian-West’s outfit brings back all manner of positive early aughts associations and leaves her audience primed to see which retro collection she’ll wear next.
